Brainworms is a list of sh*t that the No Re team was into in 2024. Shout out @katiewav for the inspiration.
For me THE standout ‘brainworm’ of 24 and to be perfectly honest, since 22 when it aired… is the Kanye doc/trilogy ‘jeen-yuhs’. But more specifically, one scene in particular where Kanye is seen previewing his album ‘The Life of Pablo’ to a live audience surrounded by, for want of a better word, his boys.
There’s something about the reaction from his mates and Kanye himself when the track ‘Father Stretch My Hands Pt.1’ drops that’s infectious to watch and keeps me coming back over and over.
I’m under no illusion that he’s become a pretty controversial figure for various reasons over the years. But watch this clip at surface level and tell me it doesn’t get you hyped to put in work!?
I watched both seasons of Arcane with my girlfriend this year and our knee jerk reaction from finishing S2 Ep9 was to immediately watch S1 Ep1 again… I’ve not experienced anything like that before and it’s probably the best way to iterate just how F#%$ING good this show is.
Visually it’s absolutely stunning and the calibre of the art team couldn’t be understated. This becomes even more apparent with various sequences throughout the series where art styles are blended / switched flawlessly. If you’re someone who likes to draw or has any creative itch for that matter, you could honestly watch Arcane without sound and still enjoy it.
…Which leads perfectly onto the Soundtrack. Once again flawless and paired with the visuals there were one or two occasions where I honestly wanted to stand up (cringe?).
Suffice to say, find time and watch it.
This one speaks for itself really… His talent is undeniable, he’s everywhere ‘and I f#%$ing love it’ . From a self proclaimed fan boy to the jealous few that ‘rag’ on Fred for RPing as someone who hasn’t come from money. Get over it, he’s a cool dood and his music is sick.

Counter-Print first crossed my radar on Instagram with a sponsored post for their two part Logo Book Set (the third hadn’t come out yet). Hooked from the get go by the clean design and Swiss Bound - binding I did the unthinkable and purchased the set directly from the AD a few moments later. How’s that for quick conversion?

Generally speaking I’ve always kept a toe in MMO’s since an early introduction to World of Warcraft in 2004. Like so many, Warhammer Online was pipped to be THE ‘wow killer’ (a popular phrase that’s been applied to essentially every MMO, that’s released since wow’s inception).
I played Warhammer Online at release and loved it but invariably felt the pull of the latest WoW (World of Warcraft) expansion and sadly never returned… pun intended.
Fast forward a few years and Return of Reckoning pops up. A privately run replica of the original game with ongoing support, balancing and expansion into unfinished areas. All maintained and developed with the nod of approval from the original dev team.
If you like PVP, this game is for you. Download some graphics packs, clear your calendar and prepare to get stomped by the steep learning curve.
First released by MB Games in 1989. HeroQuest has since been revamped and expanded on by Avalon Hill. The base game comes with an expansive quest line, game board with scenery / props, four heroes, a slew of monsters to fight, artefacts to find and equipment to bolster your characters with. The expansions offer much of the same and introduce alternative heroes, monsters and scenery / tiles etc.
If you have 4-5 friends / family in close proximity and a desire for less ‘screen time’ this could be for you. It’s good clean fun and I’ve had a lot of laughs playing it so far.
